Collaborating cross-functionally, I developed features like a document verification service, simplifying user onboarding and reducing support efforts. I collaborated closely with the CEO and Head of Engineering to drive new business through diverse experiments. Independently, I developed an MVP, tested it with prospective customers, and iteratively enhanced it based on feedback. I directly engaged with potential customers to understand their needs and managed social media pages to drive traffic. Additionally, I developed scrapers to analyze competitor data, improving our platform's value. I generated comprehensive reports for key stakeholders, outlining the experiment's impact and potential future investments. As organizational priorities shifted, I transitioned the experiment to a team and joined a feature team. Moreover, I took on hiring responsibilities, conducting interviews and contributing to expanding the engineering team from 20 to approximately 50 members.

I spearheaded the development of a comprehensive Marketing platform enabling businesses to create Image Ads with Text, distribute them across Facebook and Google Ad Platforms, and analyze performance for enhanced conversion rates. I led the design and implementation of a MongoDB database schema and engineered two proprietary algorithms for analyzing campaign outcomes and enhancing ad engagement. Additionally, I designed a user-friendly multilingual WhatsApp chatbot for small businesses to create Image Ads easily. I engaged directly with clients to refine product quality and expanded the team by recruiting and onboarding three new engineers. I provided management and mentorship to a team of junior software engineers, fostering skill development and project cohesion.

I began by architecting upcoming systems based on our roadmap, followed by crafting their marketing website for easy configuration using NextJS and Strapi. I implemented an authentication microservice with RBAC and developed a component library leveraging Material-UI. Additionally, I constructed a utility library for frontend tasks. I spearheaded the development of key platforms and microservices, optimizing deployment pipelines with AWS services and integrating third-party APIs. Alongside scaling the engineering team, I maintained legacy PHP services and enhanced conversion funnels through data analysis and experimentation.

As the first engineering hire, I worked closely with the CTO to improve user experiences. I developed and maintained the mobile app and led the development of the marketing website and internal operations panel. I also created a chatbot in Python and designed robust APIs using various technologies. Engaging with customers, I gathered feedback and played a role in our acceptance into Y Combinator's Winter 2020 cohort. Additionally, I contributed to brainstorming sessions, optimized third-party API integrations, and managed essential services. My dedication to customer service provided valuable insights for refining our product strategies.

Senior Software Engineer | Growth Team

I had the opportunity to co-create and implement remarketing and referral strategies, significantly boosting job placements on the platform. Additionally, I developed a link shortening microservice using Flask and MySQL, cutting our SMS costs in half. Collaborating closely with the support team and product, I contributed to feature ideation and implementation. I also played a key role in building an in-house analytics portal for optimizing conversion funnels, utilizing technologies like SQS, Golang, Flask, HTML5, CSS3, JS, and AWS Athena. Later, I relocated to Bangalore and actively participated in expanding the tech team, overseeing the hiring process for junior and senior engineer roles, ultimately growing the team from 4 to 12 members.

I joined the organization as the fourth engineer and worked on various technical tasks, including backend development and improving our websites. I focused on optimizing our internal operations panel, collaborating with third-party APIs, and developing microservices. Alongside this, I co-led our digital marketing strategy, managing to reduce spending while maintaining customer acquisition costs. Eventually, I also hired and managed a team of digital marketing executives to scale up our efforts.

During my time at Hotify, an 'Artificial Intelligence Platform as a Service' company acquired by Sonasoft Corporation (SSFT), I gained invaluable experience and took on diverse responsibilities. This included mastering various machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning algorithms from the ground up. Notably, I developed a reinforcement learning algorithm capable of autonomously playing Atari games and learning from its experiences. Additionally, I acquired knowledge in basic hyperparameter optimization and time series analysis. I actively contributed to formulating and implementing solutions for client challenges utilizing machine learning, artificial intelligence, and reinforcement learning techniques. One notable achievement was constructing an email classifier for a client project.

During my internship at IIT Madras, I undertook a project focused on data analytics for a banking system. My primary contributions revolved around the development of a specialized module dedicated to streamlining and optimizing the process of transferring data from various external sources with differing data schemas into PostgreSQL This project involved the utilization of Golang as we wanted high network throughput and PostgreSQL as the primary database. In addition to my core responsibilities, I had the privilege of actively contributing to an improvement in an open-source repository that closely aligned with our project's objectives.

Zenstill Analytics was a start-up venture aimed at providing service to Application Development and Support. They built a few products that are deployed and in use at client locations across the UK and India. During my internship at Zenstill Analytics, I worked on some front-end web development projects using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. I also worked on a mobile app built using the Ionic framework.
